Olhar Poente - Associação Desenvolvimento is a non-profit Private Social Solidarity Institution whose social intervention aims to contribute to the promotion of the social well-being and development of the population of the rural parishes of the municipality of Praia da Vitória, Terceira Island and the Autonomous Region of the Azores where its intervention is justified, through the social responses of Day Care (3 months - 3 years old); Free Time Activity (4 - 12 years old); Skills Center (8 - 15 years old).
Its priority objective is to intervene at community level, in particular to provide a quality educational service and develop an innovative pedagogy in the Educational Network with the "Olhar Infantil" Daycare and Rural CATL, the Skills Center for young people and the Summer Camps, while its secondary objectives are the babysitting service, event's animation, collective transportation of children and the social canteen.
It also carries out cultural, recreational, sports and leisure activities, as well as all the social responses that are useful for achieving its objectives, including support for children and young people; support for the family and community by promoting training as a Certified Training Entity; support for social and community integration; health prevention, promotion and protection; and any other social responses that contribute to the realization of citizens' social rights.
