CONGRATULAZIONI! ADESSO SEI IL PRESIDENTE DELL'UNIONE EUROPEA!

(immaginiamo per un attimo che questa carica esista e che sia tu a ricoprirla!)

In quanto Presidente, puoi decidere quali siano le questioni più importanti per l'Europa.  Cosa cambieresti affinché le cose vadano meglio? Come faresti?

In realtà, prendere decisioni a livello europeo è un processo complesso che non può essere svolto da una sola istituzione o da una sola persona. In linea generale, la Commissione europea propone le leggi, che poi devono essere adottate dal Parlamento europeo e dal Consiglio. Ciascuna delle istituzioni dell'UE ha un proprio Presidente, ma nessuna di loro ha un potere assoluto né può interferire con l'autorità dei paesi dell'UE.

If I were the President of the EU I would like to be elected directly by the European people. I would travel a lot all around the member states, taking part to ceremonies, concerts, life events in order to be the "President of the European people".

I would promote trilingual education while I standardize national exams for core subjects such as maths or literature. I would also increase the time reading books in class and teaching philosophy. In the end, I would deliver better speeches about the relevance of the EU.

First of all, if I were the President of the European Union, I would start with a review of all the countries, finding out their weaknesses and strengths. Then, I would try to find the common problem and fix it. I would focus on the supply safety, education, environment and security. I think that people should be more responsible with the environment and think about our future generation. If we don't take care of what we have, then who does? We should learn how to take care. We should learn how to share. And most important, we should learn how to help each other.

If I were the president of EU, I would definitely try to promote peace and good relation among citizens and international instititutions, to encourage the cooperation between countries no matter if they are social, economical or jurisdictional. I strongly believe that we must start to adopt a new vision about life and what power truly means, because we just cause harm to ourselves. In a globalised world to keep and value our identity define our way of thinking. We need to share love and wisdom in order to live in a peaceful world going beyond boundaries and creating an own community.

I would fight prejudice in its every type and form. I would help people realize that they can improve their status as humans only if they help others, instead of discriminating against them, according to race, nationality, sexual orientation and even social skills. Progress comes via co-operation and not by war (military or social). That is the real reason we have now an E.U. and not an empire.

I would end the barriers that are in higher education and would fight to make education something universal. For anyone and everyone who wants to study can study, that education doesn't depend on the financial condition of their parents. So that everyone has access to a public education quality. The countries only gain when more educated citizens, we all win us.

I would make sure there are restrictions on the EU expansion and national involvement (like US amendments) so there would be a solid framework and many other President's idea's will be impossible to implement since they are wasteful and grossly inefficient. And creating equal laws for different societies (at a national level) within Europe will create much friction.
