Opis
Forest Family Club Kaluzníček (www.kaluznicek.cz) was founded as one of the first outdoor nursery schools in the Czech Republic. It is located in the village of Lomnička, near the town of Tišnov. From Tišnov, there is a good train connection to Brno (27 km), the second largest city in the country. Kaluzníček is a small nursery school with a maximum of 18 children (aged 3–7) per day and 2–3 pedagogical staff. We emphasize learning through natural experiences and plenty of outdoor activities. There is generous space for free play, creativity, and projects, both outdoors and indoors — the club operates in a yurt, beside a stream and forest. Volunteers contribute by actively taking part in daily activities, sharing their passions, or simply spending time with the children. They can also join a wider community of families and volunteers connected to Kaluzníček and nearby alternative schools (Montessori, democratic, etc.).
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
The volunteer will have his/her own room in a well equiped house or flat in Tišnov and share common area (kitchen, bathrooms, living room and a garden) with another 4 volunteers or a flat with separate rooms. During the day there is a possibility of a healthy lunch. The volunteer will arrange his meal in the morning, in the evening and during weekends. The transport to/from Kaluznicek could be arranged by bus, bike or walking (2kms) or with parents driving their children. Volunteers get the pocket and food money monthly. There is a strong support from the community in material and social terms
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
As members of the Kaluzníček guide team, volunteers take part in guiding children through daily activities, supporting their development of empathy, cooperation, and conflict resolution. They help create a safe and inspiring atmosphere, assist in organizing celebrations and community events. The volunteer can also visit and experience other schools in the region/city - democratic school, Montessori school and Montessori forest kindergarten. The volunteer will be offered Czech lessons, ESC trainings, a lot of activities organized by volunteers (cooking, climbing, yoga, football, etc.).
Profil účastníka
The volunteer can be any enthusiastic person, who wants to have experience in work with children and gain experience with alternative pedagogical methods as free play, democratic school, environmental education. The volunteer should have an appropriate physical condition (the forest club program involves outdoor physical activities during all seasons) and mental fitness (the children can be sometimes noisy and very active). Open-mindedness, playfulness and sense of humour are appreciated as well as a good level of spoken english. We do not require any specific education. In case there are more applicants with similar profile we prefer a person who can stay for a longer time, best option would be the whole year.
