ELIX - CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS IN GREECE

Opis
As an ESC volunteer you will have the opportunity to be mainly involved in the social media community management aimed to promote engagement and protection and in promoting the use of social media for advocacy and outreach in collaboration with vulnerable groups (mainly refugee and migrant youth). Your tasks: To enhance community engagement of vulnerable groups through social media ( Instagram, Facebook, Linkedn, Tik Tok, Podcast). To support outreach to isolated populations.To support community leaders in developing communication channels. To Conduct surveys or interviews to understand the needs and preferences of the refugee and migrant communities.To empower young migrants and and refugees in designing and implementing workshops in order to promote protection, participation and youth development. To inform young refugees and migrants about European mobility and education/ development opportunities. To support the inclusion of participants with fewer opportunities in mobilities.
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
Volunteers will be hosted in a rented apartment in Athens that will be shared among them. The room is not shared and is totally private. The volunteer will receive a monthly food allowance and pocket money (6 euros + 6 euros per day). Travel costs to and from Athens are covered up to a certain amount, depending on your current location's distance to Greece. Greek language courses will be provided, if possible, by I Greek volunteer, however if it is not, it will be provided by the Online Linguistic Support, and insurance is covered by HENNER SAS.
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
Volunteers will have the chance to develop their organizational skills by being involved in the preparation and implementation of different kinds of activities, improve their sense of responsibility and initiative towards the tasks undertaken, work in a team in a highly multicultural environment, meet different people and cultures. Besides that, they will have the opportunity to develop a social network and participate in seminars, trainings and other cultural actions of ELIX or partner organizations.
Profil účastníka
Available for 4.5 months. Volunteers should be ready and willing to work in the ELIX office together with other volunteers and staff of the organisation. Your application will be evaluated mainly on the following criteria: previous volunteering experience (preferably in workcamps) and/or international Youth Exchanges, good understanding of non-formal education and informal learning, support for sustainability, gender equality and social inclusion, good computer skills (Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Doc), good command of English.
