WWF began its activities in Armenia since 2002 and as of November 2006. The main priority areas of the organization is the development and strengthening of protected areas of Armenia, the conservation of threatened species, the conservation and restoration of ecosystems, mitigation and adaptaion to climate change, introduction of economic mechanisms for alternative livelihood for local communities in order to promote sustainable use of natural resources and to protect biodiversity and support and promotion of environmental awareness and education. Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
The main projects are implemented in the capital city Yerevan, which has a very good transportation structure. In case the volunteers need to go outside of the city in the frame of the project the transportation can be provided. Accommodation will be organised at a dormitory or hostel. For long-term volunteers, HUJ provide dormitory where the second floor is only for HUJ volunteers. A room is shared with two volunteers and all the conditions are provided (kitchen, bathroom, etc.). The volunteer will receive monthly payments for personal expenses.
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
Support and training will be provided by the staff of the organization. Specialists and the staff will help the volunteer to integrate to the work and the activities organized by the project, gain more knowledge of the field and improve competences related to it. To give them linguistically tools, the volunteer will have two Armenian lessons per week during their whole service with an experienced tutor of Armenian as foreign language.
Profil účastníka
The volunteer should be flexible and be willing to travel within Armenia and work outside. Environmental science background and ability to conduct field research will be a plus. As the work requires the volunteer to work outside good physical state is advisable !!
