Hafnarfjörður, l-Iżlanda
Deskrizzjoni
We are looking for a talented Photographer / Communicator to manage our social media platforms and coordinate our monthly magazine. Your primary responsibility will be to create original photo, video, and written content on a daily basis, schedule and manage posts, respond to messages, and maintain a cohesive and engaging online presence. You will help strengthen our brand identity, increase web traffic and engagement, update our website, and contribute to the creation of new volunteering campaigns. Secondly, you will guide our journalism camps in the planning, writing, and design of our monthly magazine “UNA”, which focuses on environmental protection and sustainability. This is a space for creativity—while following our general guidelines, the visual style and content will be shaped by you and the group. Additional responsibilities include supporting daily coordination, organizing house schedules and leisure activities, assisting with shopping and supervising cooking sessions.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
Participants stay at the Worldwide Friends Houses, which offer fully equipped facilities. Beds and bed linens are provided, along with wireless internet access and a washing machine. Rooms typically accommodate 2, 4, or 6 volunteers. Food ingredients are supplied; however, all participants are expected to share cooking and cleaning responsibilities. Since it’s always enjoyable to try new dishes, volunteers are encouraged to bring their favorite recipes (and spices) from home!
Taħriġ matul l-attività
The project offers meaningful learning opportunities for volunteers, our organization, and the local community. ESC volunteers help strengthen our international dimension through internships, educational tours, and environmental projects. Participants join a 1-week WF Training Program plus the National Agency’s On-Arrival Training. Throughout their service, volunteers gain sustainability skills, learn basic Icelandic, lead creative sessions, and design and implement their own personal project.
Profil tal-parteċipant
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and self-driven volunteers who are eager to take initiative, work independently, and contribute fresh ideas and scalable solutions that support climate action and sustainable living. A good command of English is required, as it is the main working language in our camps. Ideal candidates are open-minded, adaptable, and ready to live in a multicultural environment with other international volunteers. A commitment to sustainability and a genuine interest in addressing global environmental challenges are essential. A strong appreciation for Iceland’s nature and a desire to explore its unique landscapes will greatly enhance your experience. While a background in Environmental Science is an advantage, it is not required. We highly value volunteers who enjoy outdoor activities—such as hiking, camping, or swimming—as many project tasks and excursions take place in nature.
