Volunteering in social therapy village for people with special needs

Opis

Volunteers will live and work in the therapeutic village Camphill Rožkalni together with 10 people with mental disabilities and 4 colleagues and their families. 6 colleagues commute to work from outside. Volunteers will participate in all daily activities, including participating and working in workshops: tea and herb making, cowshed - feeding and caring for cows, gardening - using biodynamic methods, notebook workshop - creating school notebooks for Waldorf schools. Using a schedule that will be developed together with the volunteers, they will also participate in cooking and cleaning the house. Just as important as working is engaging in creative activities, which can be planned and organized in the evenings by volunteers - music making, dancing, applique and other creative activities. Ubytovanie, strava a doprava

The farm has two family houses, a cultural center, a barn, a sauna and animal shelters. You will live in the barn - on the second floor there is one attic room, on the first floor there is a toilet with a shower, a kitchen corner, a room where the herbal workshop takes place. Your daily meals will be provided here on site - three times a day. The nearest village with a shop is 9 km away (Renceni), but the nearest city is Valmiera (16 km away). Public transport is available. You will receive pocket money - 5 euros per day and 2 euros for personal snacks.

Odborná príprava počas činnosti

You will be offered training from our national agency and will be offered online Latvian language lessons.

Profil účastníka

We are looking for self-motivated young people who are ready to work on the farm and are not afraid to perform various agricultural tasks, who are ready to spend time and organize creative activities for adults with developmental disabilities, who want to fit into a small community, live in a rural environment, and experience the rhythms of nature.
