Collège Saint Dominique Savio is a middle school with 300 pupils aged between 11 and 14 years old, located near the town center of Troyes, in the region of Champagne (northeast of France). The volunteer will support educational projects to raise European awareness and learning of foreign languages. These activities will be based on innovative and non formal methods (the volunteer will not take the place of a teacher). The volunteer can also take part in educational projects on different projects such as the Commemoration of the 11th of November, the European week, linguistic exchanges with other establishments, environment … He’ll also participate during the summer for two stays for a better start of the school year and a holiday stay to accompany the volunteering of pupils (protection of the environment and solidarity). He can propose clubs to support language learning or open to culture education like drama club. The volunteer can also propose his/her own activities.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
The volunteer will live with other volunteers in a flat where he will have his own room. The volunteer will receive money for food, transport and pocket money. The transport from home country to France is also reimbursed by the program. The volunteer will have his holidays during school holidays (autumn, winter, spring).
Taħriġ matul l-attività
During the mission of the volunteer there will be 2 training Formations. The first one is called the 'Welcome Formation' which is held for 4-5 days in one city of France (not decided yet). And the second which is called 'The midterm formation' which is 3-4 days in another city in the middle of the volunteering period.
Profil tal-parteċipant
The volunteer must be interested in education and especially in non-formal educational activities (Escape Games, Language clubs …). He/she should be able to take initiatives and communicate easily with teenagers. An essential skill with the basic knowledge in French and, most of all, that he/she shows the willingness to express himself/herself in French during the stay.
