Deskrizzjoni

WE ArtCoop is a Humanitarian Aid ESC project that involves a total of 15 young people from European countries in the development of a participatory project to raise awareness and empower women and children in Shianda (Kenya) that live in a vulnerable situation due to gender-based violence and its consequences. For 6 months, 6 volunteers will join and support WEFOCO team in creating new spaces for women and children, promoting active participation and involvement of the target group in their empowerment process, and promoting critical conscientiousness in each context through awareness actions. Volunteers will design and develop innovative non-formal education and artistic methodologies to raise awareness in different social problems detected on their context (gender-based violence, sexual education/health and mental health) in which working mental health, consequences of gender-based violence and the importance of sexual education that they will carry out during the whole project.

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport

Volunteers will receive 600€ per month as financial support. In addition to this, they will be accommodated at WEFOCO’s facilities, which are specifically prepared for youth volunteers working with the organization. Volunteers will stay at the same location throughout the entire volunteering period, with accommodation arranged from their very first day. **Visa, travel, and insurance support** are also included for the duration of their volunteering.

Taħriġ matul l-attività

Participatory observation during the analysis phase of the project by volunteers and workers from WEFOCO. Creation of promotion group with all the agents of the project and community, to plan together the program and the activities. Develop different artistic awareness and training activities on WEFOCO’s day-to-day program. Regular activities with the community, and the support and follow-up by tutors. Common evaluation through promoting group, of the activities developed.

Profil tal-parteċipant

Volunteers have to be interested on developing artistic and community skills, working with excluded communities to empower their identity. It is valued to have knowledge in socio-educational field and non-formal education skills. It is also important to have a vocation on social themes. It is valued the participation in social projects with excluded communities, youth and population. It is important for the youth to have interests related to exclusion, woman rights vulneration and motivation to learn about social realities and community art methodologies to work on empowerment.
