Opis
Volunteering at the hostel Teresianum, part of the Caritas Aleksinac building, offers a unique chance to contribute to promoting humanity, tolerance, solidarity, and respect for human dignity. Volunteers will engage in various tasks, including receiving and accommodating guests, charging for accommodation services, issuing invoices, keeping records of guests and rooms, and organizing guest reception, room cleaning, and schedules. This opportunity is not just about giving back to the community but also about personal growth. Volunteers will develop skills in hospitality management and customer service, providing a fulfilling daily routine where each task contributes to a larger goal of societal improvement and personal development.
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
The volunteers will sleep in one of the hostel rooms. The hostel has a total of 18 beds across six rooms: one six-bed room, two four-bed rooms, one double room, and two single-bed rooms. Single rooms have their own WC, while other rooms share a toilet. The hostel also opens onto a spacious shared terrace. Volunteers will buy their own food and have the option to prepare it in the kitchen and dining room within the building, which is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, and kitchen utensils. The transport will not be necessary since volunteers are located in the hostel itself.
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
The volunteers will receive comprehensive training in various aspects of hostel management, including guest reception, accommodation procedures, invoicing, and record-keeping. Additionally, volunteers will participate in training sessions focused on enhancing customer service skills, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and efficient scheduling. The training will also cover important topics such as disaster risk reduction, accessible communication with persons with disabilities, and safeguarding protocols.
Profil účastníka
Qualifications and skills: • Minimum secondary education • Ability to communicate in English (additional foreign language is desirable but not mandatory) • Experience or strong interest in hospitality management and customer service • Organized, systematic, and responsible person • Good interpersonal and communication skills • Basic knowledge of accounting and invoicing • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Flexibility and adaptability to different tasks and situations • Proactive, innovative, and able to show initiative • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills, contribute to significant projects, and be part of a team that strives to improve community living conditions. Volunteers are expected to be proactive, innovative, and show initiative in their roles.
