The Kinderhaus "Tim Täumel" , children's home in Borna near Leipzig, is a facility for 35 children and young people. Our home offers all children and young people - regardless of age and their individual impairments - a reliable place to live; in short, they have a home for a certain period of time without us claiming to want to replace a parental home. The tasks of the volunteer: Supporting our kids between 3 to 16 years during the after-school programme: free time activities, outdoor and indoor, do homework, support children with special needs, assist in the planning and execution of daily activities and events, monitor and supervise children in the Kinderhaus. Engage with children to foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere. We are looking for your application!
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
You are provided with a shared furnished apartment nearby the Kinderhaus in Borna in Leipzig with another volunteer. The apartment also has a kitchen in which the volunteers can prepare food for themselves. The volunteers will receive a meal allowance as well as a pocket money per month. Moreover, either a local transport ticket will be provided to the volunteer.
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
Our organization offers to the volunteer the possibility to take part in a language course, according to their current level of German. All participants (long-term volunteering) must participate in two mandatory ESC seminars during their project: On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training. These are opportunities to meet volunteers from other countries, gain understanding of the EU values and reflect on the ongoing project. The volunteers will get to know other volunteers from Leipzig.
Profil účastníka
The motivation of the volunteer to do a voluntary service and work with children is the most important criteria in selecting the volunteers. Other criteria might be: - very good English language skills or good basic knowledge of the German language is an advantage, - desirable: initial experience in the field of (special needs) education. Since 2021, it is obligatory that people working with children in Germany have a measles immunisation. We are looking for young persons, who want to join in individual volunteering programme nearby Leipzig.
