Proyecto Kieu is an association based in the village of Numancia de la Sagra. In the last 10 years we have been creating projects for the young people in our area so they could have more opportunities for personal development and growth. One of our biggest projects are the Youth centers we manage in the nearby towns. A youth center is a place where young people(14 till 24 years old) can hang out, participate in free time activities, learn and create. These are also the places where we organize most of our projects. Now we are looking for 2 volunteers to support our work in the youth centers we manage in the nearby towns. Those volunteers will *support the English learning of the local youth exchange group; *design visual materials related to our main activities - posters, videos, publications, support us in the organization of specific events and activities *promote volunteering and European programs;*occasionally help us with administration and office maintenance.
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
The accommodation is in a big house in two- or three-bedrooms shared with another volunteer of the ESC program. The total capacity of the house is 9 long-term volunteers living together. To travel to and from their hometown, each volunteer will have a budget depending on where they travel, according to the Erasmus + distance calculator. Odborná príprava počas činnosti
Volunteers receive an on-arrival training organized by our entity that aims to prepare them for the work with young people, give them practical information about life in our area and teach conflict management and cultural shocks. They also participate together in monthly trainings focused on the Youthpass skills and their own learning, their personal development and on the achievement of their learning objectives. Also volunteers in long-term projects participate in an On-arrival training organized by the Spanish National Agency.
Profil účastníka
We are looking for volunteers motivated with youth work and with organization of activities for young people. There is no specific skills required for this project, but it is essential that the selected people have a sense of initiative and determination to learn and help. As the volunteer will be collaborating in a youth center in a village where the bigger part of the population speaks Spanish only, it is important that you are motivated to learn the language and that you are also able to adapt your learning to possibilities there are (self-didacted learning, learning by doing, learning through social contact). The type of work our organization does requires that the chosen volunteer has good social skills and is open to lead activities, and organize groups. It is a plus if you have a drivings license. Also, experience in volunteering (local or international) is a plus. ¡Important!: We accept applications only through the official European Solidarity Corps portal.
