ESC IN ITALY WITH PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY

The volunteer will carry out her/his service in a daily centre, in a residential centre and in two group residential apartments where people with disabilty live.The tasks of the volunteer will consist in: -support in the activities of the different centres. She/He will choose one of the creative workshops (leather, sewing, mosaics, embroidery, ceramics, etc..) and help the staff and the people with disability in the creation of little objects which can be sold during fairs, Christmas period and in occasion of the annual feast organized by the Fondazione every June. The volunteer will help professionals in doing exercises of psychomotricity, speech therapy and mental stimulation. - support in the daily life activities of the different centres. She/He will help people with disability in their everyday life and collaborate with the staff to support in individual tasks or group trips. Настаняване, хранене и транспорт

Volunteer will live in a flat with another esc volunteer next to the receiving organisation, the apartment has 2 bedrooms so they will have a single room for each other, they will share the kitchen and bathroom. Once a day they will eat in the canteen of the centre, and they will also have some money to buy their own food that they can cook in the kitchen of their house. They will be given a bicycle to move freely in the city.

Обучение по време на дейността

The volunteer will have the opportunity to learn how to deal with people with disabilities, how to work in a team. he/she will be offered an italian course to improve/learn the language. He/she will have the opportunity to attend some trainings about multiculture, volunteering, etc.

What we are looking for in a volunteer? - It’s preferable that the volunteer have a strong interest in people with disability; - It's preferable that the volunteer have flexibility and desire to get involved; - Some knowledge of the Italian language, or a strong will to learn it
