Deskrizzjoni

La Maison Familiale Rurale de l’Iroise (MFR) is a vocational and rural training centre. It welcomes young people from 14 to 20 years old (80% are girls) for the initial and continuing education in Early Childhood. MFR offers several missions to the volunteer: - To raise young learners’ European awareness (foreign language learning, European culture, etc.) through original methods (CV in English, Erasmus internship preparation) - To lead cultural projects, to organize reading workshops in the structures that host our trainees - to lead writing workshops with our usual local partners (media library of Saint Renan) - To set up thematic weeks linked to European countries by promoting the cross-disciplinary teaching practices in MFR - To give a new breath to the school - To participate in the collective life of the boarding school by organizing workshops, debates, movie-debates, etc. - To create a different link with the local partners by bringing an European touch

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport

The volunteer will be accommodated in a furnished studio flat in a youth accommodation centre, in Brest city centre. Food: we give each month 240 € for all food expenditures but it's also possible to get lunch at the centre, for free. Transports: we will give a monthly subscription for the bus network. Good to know: the hosting organisation is in Saint-Renan, 15 km far from Brest (around 40 minutes by bus). The volunteer will take the bus to go from the accommodation place to the MFR. The bus stop is next to the accommodation centre.

- Pre-departure training (PDT): organised by his/her sending organisation or his/her ESC national agency - On-arrival training (OAT): organised by the French National Agency - Mid-term training (MTT): organised by the French National Agency - Final evaluation: organised by his/her sending organisation Besides, during his/her ESC the volunteer will get: a task-support mentor AND a personal mentor This project is coordinated by Bureau Information jeunesse de Brest (Bij de Brest), a youth information centre.

Profil tal-parteċipant

We are looking for 1 volunteer, from 18' up to 30'. Basic skills in French are requested as well as competencies like adaptability, flexibility, organisation/communication skills, creativity, sense of initiative. Besides, we need volunteers with a good knowledge of IT tools to make posters, flyers... The volunteer must have the willingness to work with young people and to prepare activities with/for them. The candidate must be ready to go out his/her comfort zone to create a link with the pupils. Most importantly, he/she must be able to help to lead a group with dynamism.
