Ecovillage Immersion & Community Building
L'Arbre qui Pousse
Ottignies, il-Belġju
Deskrizzjoni
30mn away from Brussels, L'Arbre qui Pousse is one of the liveliest ecovillages in Belgium, with 20 permanent residents, several volunteers, a little school, small ethical entrepreneurs, a co-working, a campus, events, communal activities, and 5ha of land under regeneration. Around 60 people interact daily with this laboratory of experimentation that seeks to inspire people to transition towards a just and regenerative model. We are inviting you to join us for 1 year and to cycle through the seasons whilst supporting our community-building events and the development of our campus, where we'll run residential programmes inspired by the folk high schools and short courses. You will learn about events management and educational programme design, as well as acquire many interpersonal and communication skills from living in community. You will also have the opportunity to work on the land a bit, in the organic veggie gardens, the tree & plant nursery, the medicinal plants garden, etc.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
You will initially be hosted in an indoor private room with shared toilets, bathroom & kitchen in a big shared house, and will then move to a small independent room with a shower & toilet, heated by a woodstove (we can send you photos). You will have access to the big shared house at all times, as well as to all community spaces. You will have access to local, organic food supplies to cook your meals (vegetarian diet). There are plenty of buses & trains nearby and you will receive a monthly allowance for your transport costs, and you will have access to a shared bicycle.
Taħriġ matul l-attività
You will of course have access to the General Online Training and the Online Language Support platforms, as well as be required to attend the pre-departure training, on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation training. At l'Arbre qui Pousse, you will work alongside tutors and learn by exposure. You will be able to join some courses (or part of them) and workshops taking place here during your stay (these can range from baking sourdough bread to creating ecovillages).
Profil tal-parteċipant
We are open to everyone! We will assess your application based on your motivation. For sure, an interest in ecovillage life and in events management and educational programmes design will be a plus. Due to the nature of the tasks (lots of communication with local/national actors), it's essential that you speak FRENCH. Because of the way we function, someone who can take initiative and function independently (under guidance) will probably feel more comfortable with us. Finally, we are very sorry to say we are currently not equipped to welcome people with reduced mobility. DUE TO SHORT TIME FOR SELECTION, IF YOU NEED A VISA, WE WON'T BE ABLE TO ACCEPT YOUR APPLICATION DUE TO VISA PROCESSING TIMES, WE ARE SORRY ABOUT THIS. ONLY APPLICANTS WHO ALSO FILL IN THIS FORM WILL BE CONSIDERED: https://forms.gle/RwirzuKYn3aV7Bdi9
