Together We Grow: Youth Volunteering with Children in Educational and Social Field

Opis
The School Office of the Municipality of Padua, offering services and initiatives to local children and schools, is looking for 1 volunteer interested in the social and educational field. The volunteer will conduct activities with children attending primary school and kindergarten such as linguistic and cultural workshops using creativity, art, music and non-formal education methods. He/she will be asked to elaborate activities for children about their own Country, EU values, interculturality, culture and traditions, in English or in other languages. Besides, he/she will plan events aimed at promoting ESC volunteering projects to the local youth, create materials for the promotion and dissemination of the ESC programme (text, audio, video, podcast) and carry out back-office activities. He/she will also develop a personal project for the local youth based on their interests and skills.
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
Volunteers will be hosted in a flat rented by the Municipality of Padova and located in the city of Padova. In the flat there will be single or double rooms, with common spaces (kitchen, bathroom) to share with other ESC volunteers. Monthly bus-tram tickets will be provided by the office, together with a bike, which is the most advisable way to move around the city. Pocket money and food allowance will be transferred to the bank account of the volunteers at the beginning of each month.
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
Volunteers will participate in two trainings organised by the National Agency: the on arrival training and the mid-term evaluation. The supporting/sending organisations will take care of the pre-departure training and the final evaluation of the experience. A series of specific mentoring sessions and trainings will be scheduled by the Municipality of Padova to train and support the volunteers during the project and for the completion of the Youthpass.
Profil účastníka
The volunteer should be willing to work with children and youth, with a positive attitude towards interpersonal relationships. He/she should be proactive, motivated, organised, responsible, adaptable and flexible. The role requires availability to move around the city and reach different schools. A background in education, experience with children or studies related to early childhood (university, volunteering, internships) is an advantage. Knowledge of Italian is an asset to properly work with younger children. Interests in arts, music, theatre, dance, sports or other activities are valuable for designing workshops. Digital skills and an interest in European mobility are also recommended. English language skills are required to lead activities.
