Deskrizzjoni

Association Merkuri is a non-governmental organization based in Zugdidi, Georgia, dedicated to promoting gender equality, youth development, and support for vulnerable groups. The Youth Worker will engage young people aged 8–25 in Merkuri’s programs, ensuring their active participation in educational and creative activities. The role involves targeted support for at-risk youth, raising awareness about domestic violence, and facilitating workshops tailored to their needs. Working closely with youth and community stakeholders, the Youth Worker will develop clubs, social initiatives, and mentorship programs, coordinate local volunteers, and promote informed decision-making. They will also contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes, sharing best practices through events and training sessions to strengthen the impact of Merkuri’s youth programs.

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport

Association Merkuri will provide accommodation for volunteer in Zugdidi. The volunteer will be accommodated in host family in a private house. The volunteer will have separate individual locked room and access to necessary facilities (shared kitchen, bathroom, and washing machine). A monthly Subsistence Lump Sum will be paid to the volunteer to cover subsistence (food, any other personal items) in addition to a local transportation reimbursement. Visa fees, insurance and international travel (1 round trip ticket) will be covered directly by sending organization.

Taħriġ matul l-attività

This opportunity is part of the BRIDGE project (Building Resilience, Innovation, Development and Gender Equality), in which volunteers will have the chance to work on a common objective: empowerment and skills development of vulnerable communities, with a focus on women groups and enhance digital skills, participate in UN Women Summits and animating digital workshops. The volunteer will receive 3 days long induction and an informal Georgian language course with locals, and will improve knowledge about Georgian culture.

Profil tal-parteċipant

The ideal candidate holds a recognized qualification in youth work and has at least two years of experience managing youth programs. They possess strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, enabling them to effectively engage with young people, stakeholders, and the wider community. Proficiency in English (B2-C1) is essential for clear communication and collaboration. The candidate should be proactive, adaptable, and passionate about youth empowerment, with the ability to facilitate discussions, organize activities, and provide meaningful support. Additionally, they must demonstrate resilience and the ability to work effectively in unstable political and social environments, maintaining a supportive approach.
