You will actively take part in the Magma – International Short Film Festival, one of the most important events dedicated to short films, which since 2002 has brought directors and works from all over the world to Acireale. You will be involved in screenings, meetings, and cultural exchanges. With Legambiente Acireale and the CEA delle Aci, you will experience concrete solidarity, by taking care of green areas and community spaces, contributing to environmental protection and the well-being of the local community. Within the Mistero Buffo Space, cultural hub of the Arci Babilonia circle, you will join events, workshops, and artistic activities that combine theatre, music, and social engagement, in an inclusive and creative environment where collaboration and mutual support are key values. In September, interviews for applications will begin.
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
The 5 volunteers will be hosted in two cozy apartments located in the heart of Acireale’s historic center. The accommodations will include shared double rooms and an open-space area, both equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, a bathroom each, and a beautiful terrace. The location is strategic, just a short walk from the town center, the cultural space Mistero Buffo, and the Cinema Margherita, home of the Magma Festival. Volunteers will be introduced to the Youthpass, a valuable tool to recognize the skills acquired during their experience. With Legambiente, they will have the opportunity to develop greater environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility towards public spaces. Participation in the Magma Festival will provide direct exposure to international cinema and the organization of a major cultural event. Finally, at Mistero Buffo, volunteers will be able to design and carry out creative activities, contributing both to their personal growth and to the cultural life of the community

We are excited to welcome 5 volunteers ready to get involved in a dynamic and growing center. We are looking for creative, independent people with initiative and autonomy – essential qualities to contribute effectively to our project and make a positive impact on the community. Volunteers will actively participate in cultural, environmental, and artistic activities: from joining the Magma International Short Film Festival (www.magmafestival.org), to initiatives with Legambiente Acireale (www.instagram.com/legambienteacireale) to care for public spaces, up to creative and social events at the Mistero Buffo Space. Previous experience in NGOs or in the cultural and environmental sectors is not required: what really matters is personal motivation, the willingness to actively participate, and consistency with your own life goals and growth path. Acireale, a town of 50,000 inhabitants on the eastern coast of Sicily near Catania, offers the right balance between tranquility and urban vitality. Here you will find a transforming context, with active youth and new cultural initiatives, where volunteers will have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with the local community. We will carefully evaluate each candidate’s motivation to understand how this experience can foster personal and professional growth.
