Deskrizzjoni
This team volunteering project, hosted by AVER Medenine in Southern Tunisia, brings together international young people to support education, inclusion and environmental awareness in rural communities. Over three weeks, volunteers will join local youth and families to implement creative and solidarity-based actions from eco-campaigns, tree planting and school animations to cultural exchange sessions and community festivals. The project promotes teamwork, intercultural learning and solidarity while empowering young people to take active roles in supporting children and protecting nature in the Medenine region.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
Volunteers will stay in shared rooms (2–4 per room) at the Medenine Youth Center, offering a warm immersion in Tunisian culture. Facilities include kitchen, dining area, Wi-Fi and nearby shops and cafés. Meals are served at the youth center restaurant or with host families, featuring typical Tunisian dishes. Vegetarian or vegan options can be arranged. The nearest airport is Djerba–Zarzis (90 km), with transport connections via bus or shared taxi (“louage”).
Taħriġ matul l-attività
At the start of the project, participants will receive an introduction to AVER, rural education and environmental awareness. Throughout the three weeks, volunteers will take part in workshops on teamwork, sustainability, intercultural learning and community engagement. Continuous mentoring and reflection activities will ensure learning, safety and personal development.
Profil tal-parteċipant
We welcome motivated young people aged 18–29 who are eager to learn, collaborate and make a positive impact. Volunteers should be open-minded, adaptable and respectful toward cultural diversity. No specific experience is required, just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to participate in manual, educational and creative activities with children and local youth. Participants should value teamwork, intercultural dialogue and solidarity, and be ready to live a simple yet meaningful community experience in a rural environment.
