If you’re passionate about working with young people in a school supporting “outside of lesson” activities and want to support their learning journey promoting non formal education, this project could be your perfect match! Oberschule im Park is a secondary school for students from grade 5 to 10, located in Gröpelingen – one of Bremen’s most diverse and multicultural districts. The school has a dedicated preparatory class (“Vorkurs”) for newly arrived young people who focus on learning the German language before joining regular classes. Many of the students come from families with a migration background and face challenges such as limited access to educational support at home, economic hardship, or social exclusion. As a volunteer, you will support activities beyond the regular classroom teaching. This includes social, creative and movement-based programs throughout the school day – and not only in the afternoon.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
NaturKultur Bremen e.V., will be the coordinating organisation in charge of all logistical matters. You will be accommodated in a flat or a house in Bremen with up to 4 other ESC volunteers. You will have your private bedroom and share the kitchen, bathroom and other spaces in the flat/house with other volunteers. As an ESC volunteer, you will receive health insurance, monthly pocket money for food and other expenses (290€ + 210€). Travel costs will be reimbursed depending on the travel distance (normally between 180-395€).
Taħriġ matul l-attività
In the beginning of your stay with us in Bremen, you will have a weekly meeting with your mentor to learn how everything works and you will develop your skills on the way! You will also participate in the On-Arrival and Mid-term trainings with all volunteers in Germany as well as a training with all new volunteers hosted and coordinated by NaturKultur e.V. You can also attend our German conversation class of at least 1 hour per week, and use the OLS Language Tool to learn German online independently.
