San Nikolas Zabalik is an organization which works to support the integration of migrants in the municipality of Getxo, in Bizkaia. These individuals are predominantly young men (aged 19-35) of Maghrebi origin (mostly Moroccans and Algerians), with some families mainly of Latin origin. To achieve this, the organization carries out several actions and manages different resources. - Abegi Enea: Shelter homes with a capacity for 36 young migrants. - IkHazi: Spanish classes and training. - Mer+: Solidarity management of food and Mer+. To carry out these actions, San Nikolas Zabalik has an educational team of three educators and a broad network of volunteers responsible for managing and conducting Spanish classes, accompanying young people in various administrative tasks, participating in and preparing several recreational activities, managing food collection and distribution, among other things.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
Accommodation: A private room will be provided in a shared apartment, sharing common spaces with two other flatmate that are part of the program of San Nikolas Zabalik. Food: The organization will provide food products for the volunteer to cook independently. Regular cooking and dining at the project are also possible. Transport: Both accommodation and volunteer work will be in the same town, without the need for public transportation. In case any actions require transportation, it will be covered by the organization.
Taħriġ matul l-attività
Volunteers in this program would participate in different activities, including educational support, participation in events, Spanish classes, and assisting in the management of Mer+. The main task is to live with and accompany migrants, focusing on improving their relational, educational, cohabitational, emotional, personal and domestic organization, and social skills, thus facilitating their integration and relationship with the community. - Spanish classes as required by the individual. - Training and discussion about the work to be done and interactions with the community.

LANGUAGE: A person with a minimum level of Spanish and knowledge of French or Arabic is also considered to facilitate communication. Preference people with a background in social work and supporting people, either through their studies or through interests, volunteer work, and social commitments. Consideration for those who have experience with migrants or have participated in an organization or association working with this population. ● Good relational skills ● Open-minded ● Sociable and empathetic ● Mature individuals ● Responsible, organized individuals who manage domestic tasks
