Educational Support in the Toddler Community (2–3 years)

CRISTEEL

Villers-lès-Nancy, Franza

Deskrizzjoni

Espace Montessori Nancy is a non-profit educational organisation near Nancy, France, including a Montessori school, an alternative middle school and a leisure centre for 50–60 children aged 2–15. As a European Solidarity Corps volunteer, I supported the Toddler Community (ages 2–3) by assisting with daily routines, preparing Montessori materials, encouraging children's independence and development, and taking part in outdoor activities. I also led songs, stories and games in my native language to introduce children to a new language and culture. In addition, I contributed to communication with families and social media content. The project took place in a multicultural, supportive environment alongside another ESC volunteer.

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport

The volunteer will have a private room in shared accommodation near Nancy city centre, with easy access to the school by bus. Food and local transport costs will be covered according to European Solidarity Corps rules. The school is closed during French school holidays and every Wednesday, providing free time to explore the region or work on personal projects.

Taħriġ matul l-attività

Volunteers receive progressive and personalized training: introduction to the educational project and Montessori method, classroom observation, mentoring support, learning caring and non-violent communication, participation in team meetings, and regular follow-ups to review projects and address any challenges. Moreover, the volunteeer will attend two Seminars organized by the French Agency : the first one is an on-arrival seminar and the mid-term one. This is a special opportunity to meet all European volunteers in France.
