Our project will take place in Palermo, involving 14 young people aged 18-30. The project aims to raise awareness of the value of non-formal education as a tool for active participation and social inclusion, offering opportunities for both personal and professional development.
Specific objectives include:
Promoting the well-being and educational growth of minors in the Ballarò and Dannisini neighbourhoods, particularly those facing sociocultural and economic difficulties, by engaging with schools, families, the third sector, and local institutions.
Empowering young volunteers with knowledge and skills on gender equality, countering violence and stereotypes.
Providing opportunities for skill-building in various areas, including office management, European funds administration, and project planning.
Supporting social integration and self-sufficiency for migrants, particularly through work opportunities, housing autonomy, and the development of stable social networks.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
Volunteers stay in shared accommodation in Palermo. The main house and another building are in the historic city centre near the Central Station, while an additional one is in the Danisinni area, a short distance from the centre. You share a room with another volunteer. Each accommodation has its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom, fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Volunteers come from many countries, creating a multicultural environment. Please bring your own bed linen and towels. A monthly allowance and food contribution are provided. You can easily reach activities and explore Palermo.
Taħriġ matul l-attività
Volunteers will take part in the training (on arrival /mid-term evaluation) organised by the Italian National Agency, either in Rome or online.
Volunteers will take part in an Italian language class at the beginning of their mobility.
Profil tal-parteċipant
Our projects target individuals aged 18 to 30, with a special focus on young NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). We aim to help this group reconnect with education or training through mobility and non-formal learning experiences, as well as to bridge their transition into the workforce. Additionally, we support the mobility of young volunteers working with organisations that assist people at risk of social exclusion.
