The « Collectif des Petits Chemins » is a non-profit association and school based in Lessive, a village located in the French community of Belgium. Its aim is to promote the new pedagogies tailor-made according with the kids’ personalities and using the natural environment. This activity involves work with little kids from 2 years and a half until 5 years old; or with children from 6 to 11. Main tasks: Supporting the teachers and taking care of the kids: from Monday to Friday (8:30-16:00, except on Wednesday 8:30-12:00); Welcoming the kids in the morning at the school; Participation in different artistic workshops (e.g. painting, drawing, weaving, story-telling, singing, modelling clay,…) ; Accompanying the kids during the breaks; Participation in outside activities: visit at the farm, walk in the forest, free time activities, Implementing a personal activity with kids after the first stage of the project.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
The volunteers will receive free board and lodging during the whole activity. The volunteers at school (4 in total) will share a fully-equipped shared house in the nearby town, Rochefort, with possibly other volunteers. Transport from house to school is free of charge. Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance and will take care of the meals by themselves. Participation is free of charge, except for exceptional contribution to travel costs. They will receive a small allowance (pocket money) for personal expenses throughout the duration of the activity.
Taħriġ matul l-attività
With the French-speaking National Agency of Belgium: on-arrival and mid-term seminars. With the support organization in Belgium (Association des Compagnons Bâtisseurs asbl, "CBB"): residential weekends and networking activities with other ESC volunteers on other projects supported by CBB in the French-speaking part of Belgium. Various workshops will be proposed along the year by CBB, as well as a camp leader training for those interested. French classes available.
