Deskrizzjoni

The project “Camino is a Team Work” invites young European volunteers to help preserve and promote the Caminos de Santiago in Portugal. The activity will take place along the Portuguese Interior Way of Santiago, passing through Viseu, Castro Daire, Santa Marta de Penaguião, Lamego, Peso da Régua, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Vila Real e Chaves. Participants will take part in team volunteering activities focused on environmental sustainability, cultural and natural heritage protection, and community engagement. Tasks include cleaning and maintaining trails, improving signage, planting native species, identifying route needs, and raising awareness among local communities and pilgrims. The project promotes teamwork, intercultural dialogue and active citizenship, while contributing to shared European heritage and sustainable local development.

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport

Volunteers will be accommodated in spaces provided by municipalities or partner organisations along the Caminos de Santiago, in shared accommodation with basic conditions guaranteed. Food will be provided through organised meals, in accordance with the rules of the European Solidarity Corps. Local transport required for the activities will be ensured by the host organisation, and international travel will be supported according to ESC programme rules.

Taħriġ matul l-attività

Volunteers will receive training throughout the activity, including an initial welcome session, cultural integration, and an introduction to the project and the objectives of team volunteering. During the experience, they will take part in practical learning activities, receive support from local mentors, and attend regular reflection and evaluation sessions. Participants will also be supported in recognising the skills acquired through the Youthpass process and may take part in training sessions promoted by the National Agency.
