Embark on a fulfilling volunteer journey at Johannes-Diakonie in Schwarzach! Our main location offers a diverse range of housing options for individuals with disabilities. "Sonnenhalde" is a new welcoming residence for adults with disabilities and high-care needs. Our friendly, passionate, and international team provide comprehensive support and needs-based assistance for residents. Emphasizing individual needs and social participation, our approach ensures close-knit support in daily life, covering all aspects of well-being. You will join our day-care team offering activities and excursions for residents. You'll play a vital role in this impactful mission using your skills and interests to help the residents - for example, music, crafts, cooking or relaxation activities. Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
A fully furnished apartment is provided locally and fully paid by Johannes Diakonie. Full board (345€) and the volunteer allowance (210€) is paid monthly direct to your German bank account. A ticket for local and national transport (Deutschlandticket) is also paid by Johannes Diakonie. Schwarzach (https://schwarzach-online.de) is a small town on the edge of the Odenwald region and close to Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Heidelberg for travelling through Germany and Europe. The town has many old buildings and often holds events in the summer months, as well as lots of outdoor activities
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
Arrival and mid-term training through the National Agency. On-the-job training at the location. Events arranged for all volunteers by Johannes Diakonie, including regular meetings with the coordinator. Free German language courses provided during the year. Youthpass at the end of the volunteer period.

Experience of working with or helping people with special needs // Caring and warm // Empathy, team-player, sense of responsibility // Reliable and punctual // Creativity and openness // Sharing activities and skills (eg. music, crafts, relaxation, walks) with patients. B1 German language skills and be willing to learn German quickly // A heart for connecting with people with disabilities and be passionate about enriching their lives and improving their health. Preference given to candidates who send a relevant motivation statement for the opportunity.
