The rooms and most of the spaces in our Youth centre Idrija and Hostel Idrija have been renovated by ESC volunteers throughout the years. The rooms are currently a blank canvas that needs some warmth, some life. They only have a name, but they are missing a story. We will be creating a story with discarded materials, as we are trying to be as nature-friendly as possible. Youth center Idrija will host a group volunteering project. 16 volunteers from all over Europe will help with their creativity and ideas to create a more welcoming spaces in our hostel for future generations. Our hostel is not just a hostel, it is a space for people with fewer opportunities. We give them a chance to be included, to have a safe space to grow, to gain skills for life; it is a space for young people to start with their first work experience. Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
The accommodation will be provided at Hostel Idrija, a youth hostel managed by Idrija Youth Centre. Hostel is located 5 min walk from the historical town centre and features an amazing view with a spacious summer terrace. Rooms will be shared by 2 or 3 volunteers, while the kitchen, living room area and bathrooms will be shared by the whole group. You as a group will be responsible for the preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Slovenia is easily accessible. Each volunteer is entitled to a reimbursement of travel costs if using public transport.
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
The volunteering activities will be carried out from 6 to 8 hours a day, totalling between 30 and 38 hours per week. Mentors and trainers will ensure a smooth working process and will be available to volunteers for everything during the activity. You will be guided through the entire process of EXPLORING, PLANNING and CREATING the rooms and BRINGING YOUR IDEAS TO LIFE.

The project offers a flexible and supportive space to learn, try new things, and co-create with our team
