Volunteer with Kona and be part of a community festival in rural Georgia. Kona is a youth and community centre in Kvemo Chala, Georgia. We work with children, young people and families from rural areas through an after-school club, non-formal education activities and a permaculture community garden. You will be part of the daily life at the youth centre and support our community festival in early October by helping with preparations, decorations, artistic workshops, food service, activities during the festival, and clean-up afterwards. You will co-facilitate musical and educational activities, support local youth in preparing a musical performance, assist with English-language activities, document local cultural heritage, and contribute to visibility. You will have space to implement your own ideas with our support. You will stay in a volunteer house hosted by a local family. The house includes four shared bedrooms with basic furniture (accommodating 2–4 volunteers per room), shared bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious common living room. You will receive 3-4 meals a day prepared by our team using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and products from the village. This is a great opportunity to experience traditional Georgian cuisine and enjoy meals made from local produce.

We are looking for a motivated and open-minded young person aged 18–30 who: Is interested in youth work, community development and non-formal education Has curiosity about music, art and cultural activities Feels comfortable living and working in a rural environment Has a communicative level of English Shows initiative and is ready to lead the activities for youth and children Respects diversity and local cultural context Is ready to follow security guidelines related to the village’s proximity to the administrative boundary line.
