EPVP 6.3 - Two months inside SocialXChange, Romania's first charity shop that runs on points

For two months you'll be part of the team that keeps SocialXChange running: taking in what the city donates, putting it back into circulation, and telling people about it. SocialXChange is the first of its kind in Romania, set up by DGASPC Sector 6. Donors get points, not money, and families from disadvantaged backgrounds choose what they need from the shelves themselves.
Your tasks, shared and rotating:
- receiving, sorting and arranging donations; welcoming donors and explaining the points system
- stock, storage, deliveries and collection points
- upcycling workshops, English and thematic/artistic workshops for children from disadvantaged backgrounds
- woodwork, repairs and DIY; decorating the new Social Care facility
- running donation campaigns and events across Sector 6
- promotion and content creation (pictures, videos, posters)

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
Accommodation provided and paid by us, shared with the team: a rented apartment or rooms in a student house, with shared rooms, kitchen and bathroom, washing machine, wifi and all utilities included. 270 EUR per month for food and pocket money, paid to you every month. Return ticket to Bucharest booked and paid by us - no reimbursement forms. A monthly public transport pass for metro. Free ESC insurance for the whole activity.
Taħriġ matul l-attività
On-arrival training by COSI and SocialXChange. No previous experience needed - you'll be trained on the job, working alongside the SocialXChange team and COSI staff, with a mentor to turn to whenever you need one. Weekly team meeting to plan the week and weekly evaluation. Youthpass at the end of the activity.
Profil tal-parteċipant
We're looking for people who:
- are between 18 and 30 years old and registered on the European Solidarity Corps portal
- are NEET: not in employment, education or training
- speak English at least at a conversational level
- care about solidarity, social inclusion and human rights, and want to see how it works in practice
- are comfortable with physical, hands-on work as part of the job
- want to gain skills in content creation, event organisation and facilitation
Around 32 hours a week, Monday to Thursday, free weekends. 8 volunteers.
