Art festival for kids

Fundación Escuela de Solidaridad

Granada, Spanja

Deskrizzjoni

Fundación Escuela de Solidaridad is looking for creative, committed volunteers with a sensitivity towards children and the arts to join a two-week artistic and social participation project in Granada.

We will work with children and young people aged 3–18, mainly from vulnerable backgrounds and neighbourhoods with limited access to culture and the arts. Together we will prepare a social arts festival for children and youth, the outcome of a creative process developed over months of workshops, accompanying it until its public presentation.

Volunteers will:

  • Prepare and run art workshops
  • Support creative processes, rehearsals and productions
  • Take part in theatre, movement, circus, performing and visual arts activities
  • Set up spaces, shows and events
  • Create social media content and promote the festival
  • Document processes and activities

We only will organize meetings with the people who complete this form: https://forms.gle/pXaFyWU3hRtMrz4H9

Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport

Volunteers will live in a shared house within the FES community in Sierra Elvira, a village 9 km from Granada, home to around 150 people from diverse backgrounds. Rooms are shared (maximum two per room) and the house has heating, hot water, Wi-Fi and a terrace.

All meals (breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner) are provided by FES and prepared in the volunteers' house.

Buses to Granada run every 30 minutes (20-minute journey), so volunteers can easily enjoy the city in their free time. Activities take place in our theatre space and in different neighbourhoods of Granada.

Taħriġ matul l-attività

Before arrival, volunteers will join an online preparation meeting about the project, logistics, rights and responsibilities, and Youthpass.

On arrival, they will receive an induction on FES, the community and the festival, plus training in art as a tool for social transformation, non-formal education with children and youth, and intercultural mediation.

Throughout the project, volunteers will be supported by a mentor and work alongside artists and educators, with regular group reflection sessions. At the end, they will evaluate their learning and receive a Youthpass certificate.

Profil tal-parteċipant

We are looking for people who are:

  • Creative and proactive
  • Experienced in working with children and/or young people
  • Trained, experienced or strongly interested in an artistic field
  • Interested in art as an educational and social tool
  • Team players, adaptable to different groups and contexts
  • Eager to share their knowledge and learn from participants

We especially welcome profiles in circus, theatre, performance, dance, movement, music, visual arts and stage creation, above all circus and performing arts, as we will prepare a performance with the children and young people for the festival.

We want people who wish not only to work for children, but to create with them: helping them build a piece, prepare a presentation and, if comfortable, share the stage with them.

You don't need to be a professional artist. Motivation, creativity, sensitivity and a respectful, participatory approach to working with children matter most.
