Opis
The Youth Education Team within the City of Osnabrück’s Youth Services Department offers you the opportunity to actively participate in children and youth work. The goal of the placement is to support young people’s personal and social development through educational projects as well as recreational, cultural, and extracurricular activities. The programme focuses on international youth work, youth involvement and youth participation (Youth Parliament). Another important activity is the organisation and implementation of the city’s holiday fun programme.
You will support the team in planning, organising and implementing various programmes: contributing to youth involvement and participation initiatives; helping to organise and run the local holiday programme, assisting with educational projects, leisure and cultural initiatives and out-of-school education, taking part in team meetings, planning sessions and debriefing discussions, working together with youth organisations.
Ubytovanie, strava a doprava
Accomodation: you will stay in a shared house in Osnabrück, where you will have access to internet, a shared bathroom and kitchen. You will have your own room.
Food: you will receive the official amount for food (345 €) per month and also a monthly pocket money (210€).
Transport arrangements: we will provide you with a bike and a monthly public transport pass (Deutschlandticket).
Odborná príprava počas činnosti
You will have many opportunities to learn with us! You will attend two mandatory seminars in different German cities, where you can reflect on your learning progress and meet other volunteers like you. You will be able to be part of the Youth Parliament and learn a lot about the national and international youth work!
You can improve your language skills thanks to a language course that we will provide. We will also offer you trainings before, during and after your project.
In addition, during your stay with us, we will organise regular reflection meetings.
Profil účastníka
The biggest building block of our work is the contact with the young people in our facilities: therefore, we would like to have a person who is courageous to get in touch with the young people. Not being shy, being interested in the young people's issues and being open to other people and situations are definitely qualities that will make your start with us easier.
We do not expect any special educational qualifications. Of course, you will not be able to communicate in German from the beginning, but we think that there are many ways of communicating outside of language.
We would like you to bring ideas and initiative to regularly design, plan and implement activities for our target group. These can be low-threshold projects, for example during our holiday programme in the area of music, sport and creativity, in which the target group can try things out. The projects can be in your areas of interest.
You will join our national and international activities within our Youth Parliament.
The most important aspect for us is that you want to be part of our team for the duration of your service and come into contact with the young people in the projects. We are happy if you bring your own interests and skills into our team.
