Youth Work Ireland Tipperary (YWIT ) is a limited company with charitable status. Formerly Tipperary Regional Youth Service, we were founded in 1970 to provide a response to the needs of young people from 8 to 18 years old. Our core aim is the social, personal and educational development of young people by giving them opportunities to try out new activities, make decisions and exercise responsibility. Geographically, there are three regions under the remit of Youth Work Ireland Tipperary - Tipperary South, Tipperary North, and East Limerick, with seven Youth Centres in Cashel, Templemore, Thurles and Tipperary town, Fethard, Killenaule and Littleton. We deliver youth projects and services throughout our region, of which are full-time and staffed by Youth Work Ireland Tipperary employees, now working with young people aged 10-24 years within our youth projects and from cradle to grave within a variety of other projects including family support, drugs project, ability work winner. In addition, we work with communities to support them to set up and run voluntary youth clubs in order to provide local quality services to young people. Youth Work Ireland
Tipperary has a voluntary Board of Directors holding overall responsibility for the organization, working through the Chief Executive Officer, staff and volunteers. This Board of Directors is made up of local club and community representatives with an interest in youth in Co Tipperary and East Limerick.
