Deskrizzjoni tal-Organizzazzjoni

The Roma National Council (RNV) is the umbrella organization for the protection and promotion of Human and Minority Rights of Roma, which voluntarily brings individuals and legal entities together for joint action to protect and improve the position and interests of Roma. RNV operates in accordance with the principles of autonomy in relation to any institution, to the rights of citizens to free and voluntary self-determination and self-organization and action, as well as the principles of tolerance, understanding, equality and respect for diversity, solidarity and support.

The objectives of the RNV focus on promoting inclusion and diversity, strengthening volunteering and civil society, public advocacy for the adoption and quality implementation of international, national and local public policies for Roma, enhancement of human and minority rights, the rule of law, participatory democracy, promoting national, religious, linguistic and other equality and tolerance, strengthening the self-awareness, primarily of young Roma, regarding the need for active participation in civic engagement and democratic decision-making processes, supporting and encouraging the inclusion of young people and women, primarily from rural areas, improving knowledge and skills of responsible leadership, dialogue, constructive conflict resolution, strategic planning, education and lifelong learning, green policies, digital transformation and literacy, raising public information of Roma and about Roma, advocacy and representation of Roma and other minority initiatives, protection against all forms of racial and national discrimination and strengthening protection mechanisms including protection against hate crimes and hate speech, enhancing existing and providing support and partnerships in the creation and operation of new minority organizations and initiatives, research as well as monitoring and supporting the implementation of the Constitutional Law on the Rights of National Minorities, other minority-related and general laws and bylaws, as well as relevant international documents ratified by the Republic of Croatia.

RNV achieves its goals by acting at the local, national and international levels and implements programs and projects in order to meet the aforementioned goals.
