Founded in 2000, Rato - Associação para a Divulgação Cultural e Científica [ADCC - Association for the Cultural and Scientific Promotion] is a youth association that develops initiatives and projects for social inclusion using Information and Communication Technologies [ICT]. Our mission is focused on promoting the Information Society, empowering volunteers and beneficiaries as «prosumers» of information, using the Internet and Multimedia, based on Non-Formal Education Methodologies Applied to Computing. Through methodologies linked to Non-Formal Education, Rato - ADCC creates a common space for young people of different areas for who Technology is a way to promote Education, Culture and Solidarity.
The main activities are:
* Training workshops in different areas such as basic computer skills, web 2.0 (Online Networks and Communities), Web Design, Multimedia, Training for Trainers in Informatics, Free Software. These activities are oriented for people with less opportunities;
* Development of online and multimedia projects for other non-profit associations;
* Promotion of international mobility opportunities in the area of ​​youth, volunteering, training, employment and entrepreneurship (Eurodesk Network Multiplier)
* Development of formative work based on active and participatory methodologies for the promotion of Global Citizenship, namely Human Rights and the Goals of Sustainable development.
* Develepment of activities (training courses, workshops, multimedia application) related to entrepreneurship and support of unemployed people.

Target group of Rato – ADCC are especially young adults but the traning activities are for general public (youth, adults, eldery people).
