KCAT, (Kilkenny Collective for Arts Talent) is an Arts and adult education Centre which has been in operation for just over twenty-one years. Over that time a community of creatives and artists has grown in reputation and standing both nationally and internationally. The Arts centre is made up of three parts, Theatre (Equinox), Professional Visual Arts, (Studio) and Student Arts Learning programme, (Courses). Over one hundred people access KCAT Arts Centre as participants, several hundred belong to our audience of friends and followers. KCAT grew out of Camphill Organisations of Ireland and has a rich history of community values and a keen sense of social responsibility.
KCAT (Kilkenny Community for Arts Talent) aims to encourage and inspire people of all abilities to grow in knowledge, capability, and confidence in their chosen art form. Many of our students have a disability encouraging us to be inclusive at every opportunity. A small group of professional facilitators works alongside participants to ensure that all stages of their development are person centred with an aim to unlock their unique potentials. There is a list of more specific goals laid out later in this application.
