WHO WE ARE
YARD is an acronym for Youth Action for Rights Development. We are an Association of Social Promotion operating in Milan from October 1, 2001 enrolled in the provincial register of Aps in Milan. Since 2005 Yard Association is registered with the provincial registry, section b / cultural, and since 2006 registered as association operating in “Zone 8” in the City of Milan. Since 2007 Yard association is also operating in the municipality of Sesto San Giovanni. Thanks to the lead of the Patchanka Network (a network of Ngo oriented to a common social and cultural mission in a very huge range of fields), since 2013 Yard is operating in other Regions in Italy. Aps Yard have also a European dimension, developed through the participation in international Network (i.e. United against racism and xenophobia) and EU programmes.

SHORT STORY
Aps Yard was founded in 2001 and has developed projects over the past 15 years in many different areas. In particular, he has supported attention to young people, anti-racist projects, projects aimed at favourish the socialization (music, meeting), cultural projects (promotion of literature, debate and so on), low-threshold projects (intervention with disadvantaged families and young people with fewer opportunities). YARD builds projects on the territory regarding the promotion of new technologies, the promotion of citizenship rights and thus contributes to the promotion of a young Europe based on rights democracy and respect for differences.
Yard, through Araxe, (Agency against Racism and Xenophobia), implement active actions against xenofobia and racism through non-formal education methods, mobility projects and exchange.
Yard supports projects and formal groups / informal youth even in networks with other partners, associations and organizations / local or European institutions, especially in European design.
Yard is the leader of Patchanka Agency Network and is involved on behalf of all other associations to maintain links and contacts despite the territorial distance, maximizing ideas, enhaning the potential and planning together with other associations.

The large majority of our activities have had starring young groups, formal and informal, composed mainly of young people aged between 15 and 35 years. Other activities are targeting children and involving all the local community.
Some projects are developed in conjunction with institutions, associations and other oorganizations.
Our projects have therefore different dimension: "local, national or international" but in any case all tham have the goal of being in constant evolution.
APS YARD activities affect many issues including social and cultural promotion, intercultural, interaction and anti-racism, development and knowledge of new technologies, communication audiovisual campaigns for the web, organization of various events for members, the organization of courses or in-depth workshops.
Yard helped and helps to develop several projects, activating them directly or by supporting them through advisory activities, supporting and coaching.
