IMAGINA Youth Center - Childhood, Adolescence and Youth Service, is the municipal center from where the youth policies of the city hall are implemented and developed.
The aim of the center is to provide access to municipal resources to young people, encourage and strengthen their participation in the municipality and promote educational and recreational activities that acknowledge and answers to their interests and needs.
Imagina, in regards of the European programs such as European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+, seeks to support the development of young people personal competencies through non-formal education by means of mobility projects, facilitating the exchange of experiences among youngsters and youth workers and promoting an active participation of said youngsters in society, not only in our municipality, but at a national and European level.
We believe that our goals are in concordance with the European youth strategy, and we focus our projects to pursue the participation of young people in European programs prioritizing activities that tackle inclusion, diversity, equality of opportunities and sustainable development, contributing to approach the 2030 agenda of the Global Goals.
In the center, our main target group that ages from 14 to 35 years old, can find the following resources: Youth Information, an open office that gives information about youth employment and studies counselling and where people can access to services such as getting their European youth card. European Programs office, from where we inform about the mobility opportunities and carry out the projects. Legal advice office, a service that helps young people in the legal field. Nature office, lend service of sport and mountain material and equipment and carries out activities in nature. The center has a space equipped with pc’s and books for consultation. Young people can access also to the office of psychological support and sexual health service. Other services of the municipality are integrated in the center as well, such as the LGTBI program or a project from social services that tackles young people with fewer opportunities and supports their social integration and their integration in the labour market. Imagina has its own Sociocultural Animation school recognised by the community of Madrid from where it provides the courses of Monitor y Coordinador de Ocio y Tiempo Libre (leaders and coordinators of leisure time activities/projects). For childhood, among the services of children’s clubs and the Childhood and Adolescence Council, Imagina also manages the summer camps every year. Lastly, the Youth Council integrated by 20 youth associations, our main target group, gives voice and conveys the message of the young people of the city. Everything comes together in collaboration with other municipal services to provide a safe and open space focused on the integration and equality of opportunities for everyone.
