The Local Youth Council of Cáceres is the platform through which the concerns of young people can be felt in the social, cultural and political life of the city, especially in matters that affect them directly, collaborating thus to the full development of young people and their full incorporation into citizen life. Its main purposes are: Promote the participation of Youth in the political, social, economic and cultural development of the city; promote the development of youth associations; facilitate collaboration between the different associations that form it; Promote participation, unity, solidarity, coexistence, respect and peace among all members of society; defend the interests and rights of youth.

Among its functions are acting as an interlocutor on behalf of youth groups before the administration and other entities, both public and private, in matters that affect the youth sphere. It is also an advisory body of the Municipal Youth Institute, and can issue opinions on any issue that affects young people. It also disseminates information that may be of interest to young people from Cáceres, as well as promotes activities, exchanges and training courses among its member entities.
