Les Genêts d'Or is a non-profit organization, since 1963, with the aim of supporting and including 1,800 children, adults with disabilities (intellectual disability, autism or psychic disability) and elderly people with dependence, by 1540 professionals in 54 establishments and services in Finistère (Brittany).
These main types of establishments are:
1- The « Medical-Educational Institutes » (IME) have the mission to support children and adolescents (from 6 to 20 years old) who have a major disability as a result of intellectual disability or autism and a disability "preventing them from to live independently ", or to benefit from integration into ordinary schools. The reception of young people is done by day and / or internship.
- Special Education and Home Care Services (SESSAD) are committed to providing care and home-based education to children aged 0 to 20 with intellectual disabilities and / or autism.
These missions are realized with medical, paramedical, psychosocial, educational and pedagogic means.

2-ESAT (« Institutions and Services of Help by Work ») offer a professional activity to adults (from 20 to 60 years old) who have the desire and the ability to work in a protected environment. Different forms of accommodation and home support are offered to these workers according to their needs and their degree of autonomy.

3- « Homes for Life and Medical Reception » (FDV / FAM) welcome adults who are not able to work but have a certain autonomy (FDV), or more severely disabled, whose dependence requires recourse to a third person (FAM).
-The « Specialized Reception Homes » (MAS) welcome adults who can not perform the essential acts of life alone, and whose condition requires medical supervision and constant care.

4-An experimental device, « Le Tremplin », proposes to young adults between 20 and 30 years old to play a role of bridge between the management of the sector of childhood and that existing in adulthood. It proposes to develop an accompaniment mode that allows young people to be in a process of learning and building their life projects. Finally, it facilitates the back and forth between different types of accompaniments, experiments and courses conducive to taking initiatives and emancipation.

5- Three « accommodation establishments for the elderly dependents » (EHPAD) offer to work on the comfort, health, well-being of people welcomed, and a desire to open to the outside and development of intergenerational links . In addition, specialized units provide care for elderly disabled people in EHPAD, with specific dedicated resources.
