Our city campus in Stoke on Trent is the University’s nerve centre. We deliver world class healthcare education at our specialist Centres of Excellence in Stafford and Shrewsbury. And a global network of more than 20,000 people study our degrees internationally.
Our industry connections and emphasis on experience make our graduates amounts the most employable in the UK. Our silver award in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework recognises excellent standards of learning and teaching, while 78% of our research is world leading or of international importance.

Our University is divided into six academic departments – Computing and Digital Technologies, Creative Arts and Engineering, Health and Social Care, Law Policing and Forensics, Life Sciences and Education and the Staffordshire Business School.
Many of our staff are known as active practitioners in their field. Employability is at the forefront of our work and we have the facilities to offer hands on experience. Our staff have one foot in industry to make sure our students have as much exposure to their chosen career paths as possible. Visiting speakers, educational visits, industry briefs and placements enhance academic lectures and stimulating workshop environments.
We focus on our students work readiness as well as educating them to be analytical and active global citizens. In addition to employability and creative skills for the workplace, we develop our students critical, writing and reflective skills.
Flexible full-time, part-time, on campus and distance learning options fit around the unique needs and lifestyles of our students. Our International partnerships let students study in their home country while earning an internationally-recognised qualification from Staffordshire University.
With partners in 17 countries, our graduates have a global impact. They have gone on to become CEOs, to work in NGOs such as the World Bank and to be government ministers.
We also have an important role in driving the economic regeneration of Staffordshire.
Our applied work in higher and degree apprenticeships, corporate programmes and our internationally recognised research in economics is a key part of what we do. It informs our teaching and enhances our students experience as well as being important in its own right.
