Pursaklar Municipality was affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality and continued to serve as the First Stage Municipality within the scope of the Metropolitan Municipality Law No. 5216 dated 10.07.2004.

PURSAKLAR DISTRICT was established within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Municipality with the Law No. 5747 on ESTABLISHING A DISTRICT and dated 06.03.2008. Pursaklar has now become a DISTRICT with a population of 91,742 according to official records and 120,000 people according to unofficial records. The legal entities of Altınova, Sarayköy and Sirkeli first degree municipalities were abolished. Yıldırım Beyazıt and Peçenek districts of Altınova First Level Municipality and Sarayköy and Sirkeli municipalities joined the Pursaklar First Level Municipality. Pursaklar has been officially registered as Pursaklar District in Ankara Province, being the center.

Pursaklar District Municipality has now become 24.000 Hectares and Pursaklar (Merkez District, Fatih District, Yunus Emre District, Ayyıldız District) Altınova (Yıldırım Beyazıt District, Peçenek District,) Saray (Gümüşoluk District., Osman Gazi District, Cumhuriyet District, Fatih District.) Sirkeli (Yesilyurt District, Yeşilova District, Abadan District, Karaköy District, Yuva District, Kösrelikkızığı District, Karşıyaka District. Gümüşyayla District). published in the official gazette numbered; It continues to serve with a total of 19 neighborhoods with Yenikaraköy Neighborhood, which was connected to our district with the decision numbered 2011/963 and included in our municipality borders.

The Municipality is legally responsible for municipal and agro waste management in the city. The Municipality of Pursaklar is alocal administrative body with corresponding territorial division legislature, responsible for managing the main issues that concern the city: environment, social area, cultural activities, education, construction, and others. It is also responsibleforestablishspecific lawsandrulesforthemunicipalityin ordertopromotea quality life for the community. The mission of our minucipality is to develop creative and innovative thinking and skills among youth and kids. Promote the development of creative society and the innovative economy by the active involvement of youth.To participate in the processes of development of knowledge-based economy. To involve children and youth into active social life and to organize various events, trainings, seminars aimed to increase the level of their general development, creativity and social-cultural education in our society!
