Ayuntamiento de Teror is the local public body of the municipality. Teror is a municipality belonging to the province of Las Palmas, at Gran Canaria island. It occupies an area of 25.8 km², being the fourth smallest municipallity on the island's surface.

Eminently rural municipality, located in the interior of the island, without exit to the sea; has apopulation of 12,522 (INE, 2020) of which 2,017 are young people between 15-29 years (16.01%).

As a local public institution, our objectives and functions are framed within the provision of different services public services to our local population, ensuring their well-being and development with equal opportunities.

This accreditation is covered by the Youth Service of the Teror City Council, belonging to the Department of Childhood and Youth, whose objectives and purposes are:

- Offer adequate spaces that can be used to occupy the free time of the youth of Teror, to facilitate and enhance their qualities and skills.

- Promote, empower and energize youth associations and groups that exist, or may exist, in the municipality of Teror, facilitating youth participation and integration in the social fabric, promoting awareness campaigns, information and promotion of volunteering.

- Channel the needs and demands of the youth, youth groups and associations of the municipality, deepening in group work and personal interaction.

- Provide information, training and education to respond to doubts and concerns that arise in the group youth of Teror and thus achieve greater personal development.

Among the activities developed by the Youth Service are workshops, talks, training and leisure activities aimed at promoting the meeting of young people from Teror, facilitating the rapprochement between them and the rest of the population, and responding to the needs of the youth of the municipality. In addition, leisure activities and educational free time, festivals and activities to promote development and health.

The target group of our activities are young people aged 14-30, from a rural municipality, many fewer opportunities since in addition to facing geographical obstacles (Outermost Region of the EU, Rural Context), they present other difficulties such as economic, social, educational, etc.


El Ayuntamiento de Teror es la institución pública local del municipio. Teror es un municipio perteneciente a la provincia de Las Palmas, en la isla de Gran Canaria. Ocupa una superficie de 25,8 km², siendo el cuarto municipio más pequeño en superficie de la isla. Municipio eminentemente rural, situado en el interior de la isla, sin salida al mar; cuenta con una población de 12.522 (INE,2020) de la cual, 2.017 son jóvenes entre 15-29 años (16,01%).
Como institución pública local, nuestros objetivos y funciones se enmarcan dentro de la provisión de diferentes servicios públicos a nuestra población local, velando por su bienestar y su desarrollo en igualdad de oportunidades
Esta acreditación se ampara bajo el Servicio de Juventud del Ayuntamiento de Teror, perteneciente a la Concejalía de Infancia y Juventud, cuyos objetivos y fines son:
- Ofrecer espacios adecuados que se puedan utilizar para ocupar el tiempo libre de la juventud de Teror, para facilitar y potenciar sus cualidades y aptitudes.
- Promover, potenciar y dinamizar las asociaciones y colectivos juveniles que existen, o pueden existir, en el municipio de Teror, facilitando la participación e integración juvenil en el tejido social impulsar campañas de sensibilización, información y fomento del voluntariado.
- Canalizar las necesidades y demandas de la juventud, de los colectivos y asociaciones juveniles del municipio, profundizando en el trabajo grupal e interacción personal.
- Facilitar información, formación y educación para dar respuestas a las dudas e inquietudes que surgen en el colectivo juvenil de Teror y alcanzar así un mayor desarrollo personal.

Entre las actividades que se desarrollan desde el Servicio de juventud se encuentran la realización de talleres, charlas, actividades formativas y de ocio encaminadas a potenciar el encuentro de jóvenes de Teror, facilitando el acercamiento entre ellos y el resto de la población, y dando respuestas a las necesidades de la juventud del municipio. Así mismo, actividades de ocio y tiempo libre educativo, festivales y actividades de promoción del desarrollo y la salud.

El grupo objetivo de nuestras actividades son jóvenes de 14-30 años, de municipio rural, muchos/as con menos oportunidades ya que además de afrontar obstáculos geográficos (Región Ultraperiférica de la UE, Contexto Rural), presentan otras dificultades como económicas, sociales , educativas, etc.
