FAI is an Italian social economy organization active mainly in the North-eastern regions. Since 1985 it has been managing social, educational and health services for heterogeneous target groups: elderly, children, youngsters, people with disabilities and mental issues and migrants.
Overall FAI employs about 500 workers, have partnership with many local authorities and provides social services to foundations, associations and citizens.

FAI long-term aim is to improve: Empowerment of local communities; social research e project design; innovation and experimentation in social and health services; dissemination of good local practices

Activities and target groups
FAI provides health and social services for the elderly:
• rest homes
• home care services
• senior centres
• social housing and assisted living facilities for elderly

In the field of disability, it provides both territorial and community services. In detail
• school service to young people with mental and physical disabilities;
• educational and integrative support both at school and extra-school time;
• communities and day-care centers for disabled persons

FAI has experience in services targeted to fragile young people:
• Support to disadvantaged families and youth
• projects with the aim of increasing participation and social cohesion of young people within their communities
• creative projects with educational issues

In the area of mental illness FAI manages different kind of services, both residential and territorial. The rehabilitation projects are focused on three kinds of intervention:
• Housing area
• Relations and social abilities
• Job and training

From 2016 to 2020 FAI has provided integrated services for refugees and asylum seekers (about 150) mainly coming from the Balkan Route and in detail: accommodation in apartments, legal and psychological support, Italian classes, job and vocational training orientation and social inclusion activities.
