Şanlıurfa Foundation is a non-profit foundation established in 1996 for the solidarity of citizens born in Şanlıurfa, whose headquarters are in Ankara and branches are located in Bursa and Şanlıurfa. The Foundation aims to support the citizens of Sanliurfa with limited financial opportunity, to include individuals who are excluded from the society and to offer them equal opportunities, to support working women and to involve more women in business life, to realize the potential of young people who are studying, and to develop professional development as well as personal development. It aims to support all people who do not have the means to participate in all social and cultural activities by providing equality of opportunity. All activities organized for these purposes are carried out by 7 sub-committees.

Each board has a separate chairman and activities are organized by these boards.
1- Scholarship activities are carried out by the Board of Youth Branches to provide financial support to undergraduate students in Şanlıurfa in need. Our foundation currently has 100 students with scholarships. In addition, negotiations are continuing with a company that provides virtual / distance education services to provide free access to education services to 20.000 students who are not in a good financial situation.
2- The Education and Training Board organizes regular trainings to support the personal, social, cultural and professional development of young people, encourage them to discover their own potential, take an active role in society, and increase their self-confidence. Career Planning, Body Language Training, Effective Communication Skills, Time Management are some of the training given so far.
3- It is aimed by the Culture and Arts Board to support the cultural and artistic development of young people. For this purpose, music, painting, and photography courses are given and mini concerts are held at the foundation center. However, the courses were suspended due to the pandemic, and instead, our youth were directed to activities such as concerts, theater performances and interviews broadcasted in digital environment.
4- The Tourism and Social Activities Board aims to highlight the historical facts of Şanlıurfa and thus increase the touristic activities. In this context, Sanliurfa visit was made by the board of directors. During this visit, the governor of Şanlıurfa, the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, the Center and District Mayors, the Rector of Harran University and NGOs were contacted to support the activities of the foundation. Within the scope of social activities, a cultural and solidarity night was organized in Ankara, which brought together the friends of Şanlıurfa. A total of 750 people participated in the night, where meals belonging to the Urfa culture were eaten and the screening was held on the Urfa Sira night. In the month of Ramadan, food parcels were distributed to help the needy people in Şanlıurfa living in Ankara.
5- The Board of Women's Branches carries out activities to bring women from Şanlıurfa to work life and to reduce the occupational problems experienced by existing employees. The Foundation joined the Women's Hands Cooperative, which was established in cooperation with Harran University to support women in Şanlıurfa as a founding member. In this way, it aims to ensure women's participation in more professional business life and to create new markets for their products.
6- The Health Board organizes activities to raise awareness of the children of Şanlıurfa about health and hygiene when they are younger. For this purpose, the approval of Şanlıurfa Governorship, Şanlıurfa Foundation, Şanlıurfa Provincial Directorate of National Education, Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate and Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality are preparing 3 large projects. The Board also repeats current health problems and prepares action steps for this purpose. In this context, “ANKARA PANDEMY SUMMIT” was held with the request of Şanlıurfa Foundation and the participation of MPs. Health Minister Fahrettin KOCA was visited under the decision taken at the summit and the pandemic and health problems of Şanlıurfa were presented to the Minister. The decision to take initiatives ensured that Covid-19 test devices and test kits were sent.
7- The Law Board aims to bring together all Urfa lawyers, judges and prosecutors living in Ankara and create a community where all citizens of Sanliurfa can consult on legal issues (personal rights, guardianship, divorce, etc.).
