Opis organizácie

The 'Stadtjugendausschuss e.V. Karlsruhe' (STJA) is the umbrella organization of Karlsruhe's youth associations and providers of open child and youth work. Thus, there are many institutions in the STJA, which provide offers for children and young people in the various districts and in different topics, such as sports, dance, circus, vocational orientation, open children and youth work, free time, children and youth camps, music, art and also educational work. Furthermore, several youth associations in Karlsruhe are members of the STJA, as well as the coordinating organization, the Kreisjugendwerk der AWO Ka-Stadt.
There are many opportunities to get involved in the various facilities of the STJA. Volunteers can organize events, look after children and young people during their vacations, do sports programs, lead workshops for children and young people, and also take on administrative tasks and represent social media.
Volunteers at STJA get the opportunity to develop themselves, learn new knowledge and skills, and get to know different areas of work.
The focus of the work at the STJA is the pedagogical support of the process of self-development of children and youth.
Furthermore, the STJA wants to use its work to create the ability of children and youngsters to judge and act. As well the STJA wants to raise political, social and cultural awareness for children, adolescents and young adults. The goals of the STJA include promoting the participation of children and young people in political processes, in culture and sports activities, educating children, adolescents and young adults through play, and promoting inclusion and diversity. The offers are intended to promote educational opportunities for young people in Karlsruhe and the surrounding area and to strengthen voluntary commitment. The STJA aims to achieve these goals primarily through cross-institutional cooperation.
