The Évora 2027 Association was established by Government Decree-Law on 26 December 2023, with the corporate purpose of planning, promoting, developing and implementing the Évora European Capital of Culture 2027 initiative. Évora_27 is a major initiative dedicated to the arts, culture and heritage, promoting cultural diversity and European values. It promotes the city of Évora and the Alentejo region at national, European and global level. It consists of a multicultural programmes and projects. It aims to transform the city and the region and promotes community empowerment, creating a legacy for the future. The territory of intervention extends from Évora to the entire region. Évora_27 volunteers will be ambassadors for Évora_27 - European Capital of Culture, promoting it, publicising it and bringing it closer to the community. They form an intergenerational, multicultural and inclusive network, bringing together different experiences, visions and talents; the exchange between generations stimulates mutual learning, cultural diversity broadens creativity, and inclusion ensures participation and equity. This network increases the visibility and reach of Évora_27, reinforces awareness of the value of culture for personal and community life, and becomes a transformative pillar of the community itself, providing living proof that everyone can contribute to the culture of their city and region.
