The volunteer will be part of our team in Korneuburg and can choose between two main areas, depending on their interests. 1) Emergency Medical Services (German language skills are required: B1/B2): The volunteer may complete paramedic training (“Rettungssanitäter:in”), including 100 hours of theory and 160 hours of practice. Afterward, they can support the ambulance team in emergency and patient transport services, assist staff and volunteers, and gain insight into emergency response operations. 2) Health and Social Services: The volunteer will support social welfare activities such as the second-hand boutique, thrift store, and social initiatives. Tasks include sales, shop decoration, warehouse management, marketing, helping at a monthly social café for elderly people, and supporting the distribution of nursing care products and food. In both areas, the volunteer will work with experienced staff and volunteers and get to know the activities of the Austrian Red Cross.
Akkomodazzjoni, ikel u arranġamenti tat-trasport
The volunteer will be accommodated directly at the district branch in Korneuburg with a furnished room, access to kitchen facilities and washing opportunities. Korneuburg has good public transport connections to Vienna and surrounding areas.
Taħriġ matul l-attività
Depending on existing language skills, there is the option for an external[NM1.1] language course. Further training opportunities include: • First Aid Course (16-hours, offered only in German) • Austrian Red Cross Online Welcome Course (3 hours, offered only in German) • Training as a paramedic ("Rettungssanitäter:in") for volunteers choosing the emergency medical service track • Optional Red Cross courses on structure, values and activities
