Improving environment protection by using clean cooking systems
LVIA
KONGWA, it-Tanzanija
Deskrizzjoni
Jiko Banifu is a 6-years project focused on supporting local communities in increased awareness, skills and sensitisation regarding sustainable development through fighting the alarming rate of deforestation in Tanzania, where, due to a lack of alternatives, families use firewood and charcoal for cooking. There is a limited nationwide uptake of clean cooking solutions, due to a lack of distributors, virtually non-existent transport links and a lack of financial support for small-scale artisans. All the activities are targeting the most vulnerable groups living in rural areas. The volunteer will be directly involved supporting local colleagues in the implementation of:
- awareness-raising campaigns
- green cookstoves (Jiko Banifu) distribution
- data collection
- coordination meetings
- communication activities (social, video, etc.)
- narrative and financial reporting
- monitoring procedures and filing project documents
