Welcome to the European Youth Week 2024, an event organised by the European Commission every second year to celebrate and promote youth engagement, participation and active citizenship all over Europe and beyond.

“Voice your vision” (Focus: Democracy & European elections)
The European Youth Week 2024 is being held 2 months ahead of the European elections scheduled to be held on 6 to 9 June 2024. This means that democracy and European elections will both be in the center of the debate. It’s time for youth in Europe to become more engaged in society and to put democracy in action. Make sure your voice is heard and remember to vote!
Kick-off event - 12 April 2024
Opening plenary session with:
- Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament (video message)
- Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission (video message)
- Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth
Followed by a panel discussion on "Empowering Youth: Democracy, Participation, and European Elections" moderated by Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen, Director-General of DG EAC.
