Show us your Europe in one minute!

Are you a DiscoverEU traveller with a story to tell? This is your chance to share your experience and creativity and to win a trip to Brussels for an exclusive video workshop!

Winners will receive an Interrail Pass (yes! On top of the DiscoverEU one you already received!) to go and travel across Europe and come back with even more stories!

🌍 What is it about?

DiscoverEU gives 18-year-olds the chance to explore Europe by rail, its culture, and its diversity. This video competition celebrates that spirit; we want to see what Europe means to you.

Your video should answer to this question:

• What does it mean to be a young person in Europe today?

🕓 Competition timeline

• Opening date: Wednesday 10 December 2025

• Deadline: Friday 16 January 2026

Late entries won’t be accepted, so don’t wait until the last minute!

👥 Who can enter

The competition is open to young people who:

• have been selected under a DiscoverEU call in 2022, 2023, 2024, or in the first round of 2025.

• are citizens or residents of an EU Member State (including Overseas Countries and Territories) or Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia or Türkiye.

🎬 Your video

• Length: up to 1 minute

• Format: vertical (9:16)

• Film in HD quality (most phones record in HD by default)

• Language: any official language of the eligible countries (add English subtitles if not in English)

• Style: narrative or abstract, it’s up to you!

Do:

✅ Use only your own original footage

✅ Use royalty-free or copyright-free music (keep proof of licence)

✅ Get written consent from anyone appearing in your video (only 18+ may be featured)

✅ Make sure your content reflects EU values and is suitable for all audiences

✅ If you’d like to share your video on your social media, feel free. Tag us (@european_youth_eu) and add #DiscoverEUVideoContest 👀. This is entirely optional and won’t influence the selection process.

Don’t:

🚫 Use stock or AI-generated material

🚫 Include logos or brands

🚫 Use copyrighted music or clips

Tip: Keep your licences and consent forms just in case we need them.

📤 How to submit

1. Upload your video to YouTube Shorts as an unlisted video.

2. Add a clear title and description, creativity counts!

3. Submit your application form with your details and the YouTube link by Friday 16 January.

Only one entry per participant.

🏆 What you can win

A trip to Brussels for a 3-day DiscoverEU Video Workshop (April 2026) — we’ll cover your travel, accommodation and meals, and an Interrail Pass to travel and create new videos across Europe. On the first day, you will attend the kick-off event of the European Youth Week in the European Parliament.

Your videos will be featured on the DiscoverEU and European Youth social media channels managed by the European Commission, Eurodesk and Erasmus+ National Agencies.

👥 How winners are selected

A jury from the European Commission, Eurodesk and Erasmus+ National Agencies will select 10 winners based on:

• creativity and originality

• relevance to the theme

• clarity of storytelling

Winners will be notified by email. They will have 7 days to confirm their participation. If a winner doesn’t reply within this timeframe, another participant will be selected.

💡 Use of your video

By entering, you allow DiscoverEU and its partners to share and promote your video (or parts of it) for non-commercial, promotional purposes, always in line with EU data protection rules.
